Reception and Year 1 Enjoy an Exciting Cycle Tots Adventure

Last week, our Reception and Year 1 children took part in a fantastic Cycle Tots Adventure, developing their confidence and key cycling skills through a range of fun games and challenges.
Before getting on their balance bikes, the children warmed up by pretending to be meerkats, ostriches and eagles. These activities helped them practise the movements and body positions needed for successful cycling, encouraging good balance, awareness and control.
Once on the bikes, the children showed excellent determination as they practised pushing off, balancing and gliding. They tackled a variety of exciting challenges, including navigating the wobbly river, delivering tickets and even blasting off on their very own cycling adventures! The children embraced every activity with enthusiasm and quickly grew in confidence as they developed their cycling skills.
It was wonderful to see the children supporting one another, persevering when things became challenging and celebrating each other's successes. Throughout the session, they demonstrated fantastic listening skills, resilience and a willingness to try something new.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and gained valuable skills in balancing, striding and gliding whilst having great fun. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and can't wait to take part in another Cycle Tots Adventure soon! 🚴♀️🚴♂️🌟
