With all the concerns over the coronavirus outbreak and how this might impact schools and your child’s learning, we wanted to offer you some ideas to help you continue their education during any potential school closures.

We also appreciate that keeping children engaged in their learning whilst at home is not going to be easy and so we have provided links to a range of content for your child that can be completed independently or with adult support.

For independent learning and games, we recommend using Classroom Secrets Kids.  Packed with fun and engaging content, this online learning platform will guarantee to keep your child learning independently.  Parents will need to register and create a free account for each child in the household before accessing these resources.  Registration is easy and explained clearly on the site.

Goodbye and good luck in Year 5!

Hello Year 4. It has been a very strange year but we have enjoyed every minute of being your teachers. A big thank you to all of the children (and parents) who have worked so hard these last few months doing the home learning. We have loved seeing all of your efforts. We wish you lots of luck in Year 5, we know you will all do brilliantly!

Below are some activity booklets for you to work through over the coming weeks just incase you have a few minutes spare over the summer.

Have a great summer,

Mrs Yates, Mrs Ellis and Miss Gavin

Now that school is open more widely to the children of Key Workers, teachers will be in school working with different year groups.  We will now be uploading our weekly plan, rather than uploading home-learning activities on a daily basis.

Friday 17th July

English Activity

Today we would like you to do two activities.

Please think about all the books you have read over lock down and make a list of them in your book. Next, think about which is your favourite book. Think about why it is your favourite then complete a book review sheet. If you send a photo of this back to us then hopefully we can create a list for other children to enjoy over the summer holiday.

Next, make notes on the all about me sheet and keep adding to this over the next week. One afternoon next week we will ask you to make a poster using this!

Maths Activity

Friday Fun! We thought today we’d try something a little different. Can you solve the clues to crack the correct code to unlock the phone’s passcode. Then you’ll be able to escape the forest. The PowerPoint reveals the answers as you go …. Please don’t cheat! You can print the clues shown on the screen to help you work out the answers. Good Luck!
