Mental Health Awareness Day
10th October 2020
On Saturday the 10th October, the world came together to recognise the importance of a positive mind and to help everyone feel that they are never alone.
Here's Westie to explain more...
Yellow is such a 'feel good' colour. It's the colour of sunshine that warms you inside. It's the colour of new crops growing in the fields. It's the colour of the brightest stars that shine in the night sky, it's the colour of happiness!
Have a listen to Coldplay's warming tune all about the colour yellow and listen to the lyrics.
'Look at the stars, look how they shine for you...'

It's time for another 'Hello Yellow' song to brighten your day...
Hello Yellow Activities
Why not create your own 'Hello Yellow' bunting?
You could write down tips on how you help others in school, how you've helped to cheer someone up or how someone has helped you.
Have real good fun and let you're imagination run wild creating a 'Hello Yellow' Superhero. Obviously, the only rule is that yellow has to be included!
Super powers: Which super powers might your superhero have? Why not theme them around World Mental Health Day? They could be the world’s best listener, the most amazing friend or have the power to show every young person in the world that they’re not alone.
KS1 Positive Awareness
Saturday 10th October is World Mental Health Day and this year's theme is all about how we can make mental health better for everyone.
It's an opportunity for people to think about what they do to look out for others, as well as themselves when it comes to issues surrounding mental health.
This could mean checking in on friends or family who you suspect may be having a tough time, talking about mental health issues more freely and openly, or being a good listener when it comes to those you care about.
Here are some thoughts from children about how we can make mental health better for everyone...
Westie says, "Hakuna Matata!"
Let's finish off with a real 'feel good' song...
