That's it for this Term!

Here's the stats for this term...

Competitions: 3

Festivals and other events: 3

We'd like to say a big thank you to our pupils who have worked their socks off this term! Keep being sporty and we'll have plenty more things for you to try in the new year!

Y5&6 Sportshall Athletics 4.12.19

Well done to our year 5 and 6 athletics team who competed in our local competition at Great Sankey Neigbourhood Hub. Unfortunately we didn't qualify for the county finals as we finished in 7th place. Despite this, our team competed with passion, determination and great sportsmanship. Well done to all our children who attended.

EY Bike Right 2.12.19

Class 1 and 2 are taking part in the Bike Right scheme this week. The two reception classes have been practicing their skills on the balance bikes. Have a look at the photos below to see how they are getting on.

ESFA U11s Football 28.11.19

Well done to our two teams who travelled to Orford Hub on Thursday to take part in the ESFA U11s football competition. Unfortunately, we didn't make it past the group stage. However the teams played some fantastic football, despite the wet and windy weather. Well done to everyone involved.

Thank you Mr Ansell 11.11.19

We'd like to say a big thank you to Mr Ansell from the Warrington School Sports Partnership (WaSSP). Mr Ansell visited us on Monday afternoon to help train our Play Buddies. The Play Buddies are now super excited to start organising games at lunchtime for our younger children in KS1!

ESFA U9s Mixed Football 5.11.19

A big well done to our two teams from year three and four who competed in the English Schools Football Association U9s football competition at Orford Hub. They played very well managing to score some fantastic goals and even had a chance of playing against each other as part of their league fixtures. Both teams were exceptional and hope to participate as much as possible in other events we have going on this year.

This Girl Can Festival - 17th October

Today, eight of our year 4 girls travelled to Priestley College to take part in the first This Girl Can Festival.

The aim of the festival was to try different sports before adding a competitive element later on.

Our girls had a great time and all of them said they would consider taking up one of the sports they tried on the day.

Double Gold for Team GB!!

Congratulations to Team GB athletes Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Dina Asher-Smith for winning Gold at the World Athletics Championships in the Heptathlon and the 200m respectively.

They are an inspiration to every young athlete in the country and hopefully they can repeat their heroics at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics!

Primary Ability Day - 7th October

A group of our Key Stage 2 children traveled to Orford Hub today to take part in the first Primary Ability Day of the year. They had lots of fun taking part in events such as Football, Table Cricket, Boccia and New Age Kurling. Check out the pictures below to see how they got on!
